Platform Globalization Initiative From Clickbank
March 19, 2008
Clickbank broke news yesterday about a new initiative called Platform Globalization. This is a positive step in the right direction on the part of Clickbank for those that want to tap into new markets and take advantage of foreign customer opportunities.
Up until this point, CB products and services were only offered in English and in US Dollar currencies. This has changed in the new initiative and as taken from Clickbank.Com:
Beginning today, publishers can offer products in Spanish. Spanish language capabilities allow for interaction between the customer and ClickBank to be “localized” in Spanish. Additionally, affiliates can easily identify publishers in the ClickBank Marketplace offering Spanish products and begin referring customers to these new products.
Also included in the first phase is the addition of a ClickBank currency converter to the order form. The currency converter will provide customers a means to see the product price in currencies other than USD. This may sway those in other countries to buy products if they have the chance to see how much the product costs in their native currency - because obviously not everyone around the world understands the USD or English.
Future plans include the option to actually buy a product in native currency, as well as French and German language capabilities. I imagine that down the line, other languages will be added as well, depending on the success of the first few phases.
