Decommissioning of eChecks as a Method of Payment
April 18, 2008
After careful consideration, ClickBank will no longer accept eChecks as a payment method as of 2008-04-15. Please make certain to update your website(s) to reflect this change.
eChecks account for less than 1 percent of total ClickBank sales volume, yet have a significant fraud and revoked sale rate. We recently ran an order form split test to determine what impact eChecks have on sales conversion. The test showed no significant difference in conversion rate whether the eCheck option was enabled or not. These results indicate the presence or absence of eChecks as a payment option does not significantly influence customers’ purchase decision. After 2008-04-15, customers can still pay from their checking account by using a Visa/MC debit card or a bank account funded PayPal account.
When updating your website(s) to remove any references to eChecks, you may also want to update your payment button images. The images and instructions for use are located in the ClickBank Payment Link FAQ #3.
