ClickBank Offers PayPal for Recurring Billing

June 25, 2008

BROOMFIELD, Colo., June 25, 2008 - ClickBank, a privately held online retailer for buyers and sellers of digitally delivered products and services, today announced it is offering PayPal for recurring billing - yet another strategic option for product publishers seeking to increase business and meet customer needs.

ClickBank is using PayPal’s recurring billing solution to give product publishers an easy way to sell subscription-based content and services, such as online newsletters or annual software licenses. It has proven to be very popular with customers, growing rapidly each month since its introduction.

“Currently, nearly 20 percent of ClickBank’s total business transactions are conducted using PayPal,” said Bob King, ClickBank CEO. “Allowing customers to use PayPal for recurring billing will further fuel demand for our popular subscription-based products and services and, by providing a new payment option, enhance the ClickBank experience for publishers, affiliates and customers.”

“We are excited to have ClickBank on board using PayPal,” said Jim Hunt, director of merchant relations at PayPal. “Using our recurring billing functionality gives customers security and convenience when shopping online.”

ClickBank is a world leader in online commerce systems with more than 100,000 active affiliates, 35,000 unique digitally downloadable products, such as e-books and software, and over 12,000 product publishers from around the globe that register more than 25,000 daily transactions.

New York State Online Sales Tax Law

May 30, 2008

New York state is implementing a new law that would require online retailers with affiliates located in New York state to collect sales tax from New York residents.

We are aware of this issue and are monitoring the situation closely. If the law goes into effect June 1, 2008, as it is scheduled, we will begin collecting sales tax on all sales made to residents of the state of New York.

Return Policy: Extended Timeframe — UPDATE

May 25, 2008

We are making a minor change to our posted return policy effective May 28, 2008. The stated return policy on our web site will change from 8 weeks (56 days) to 60 days. The updated return policy will read as follows:

“ClickBank will, at its discretion, allow for the return or replacement of any defective product within 60 days from the date of purchase. For recurring billing products, returns for more than one payment may be provided if requested within the standard 60 day return period. After 60 days all sales are final.”

If you want to keep the 8 week return policy wording on your website, you may do so. Please note, however, that we will honor return requests made within 60 days. If you want to post the exact policy that we will have on our order form and web site, you will want to make those changes on May 28th.

If you have any questions about this change, please contact Customer Service.

Decommissioning of eChecks as a Method of Payment

April 18, 2008

After careful consideration, ClickBank will no longer accept eChecks as a payment method as of 2008-04-15. Please make certain to update your website(s) to reflect this change.

eChecks account for less than 1 percent of total ClickBank sales volume, yet have a significant fraud and revoked sale rate. We recently ran an order form split test to determine what impact eChecks have on sales conversion. The test showed no significant difference in conversion rate whether the eCheck option was enabled or not. These results indicate the presence or absence of eChecks as a payment option does not significantly influence customers’ purchase decision. After 2008-04-15, customers can still pay from their checking account by using a Visa/MC debit card or a bank account funded PayPal account.

When updating your website(s) to remove any references to eChecks, you may also want to update your payment button images. The images and instructions for use are located in the ClickBank Payment Link FAQ #3.
